Online 404 System Requirements for PC

Online 404 is a Windows-only Steam release, and the official minimum spec is an Intel Core i5-12400F or AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, 16 GB of RAM, a DirectX 12 capable GPU and 60 GB of storage. The real gate for older machines is the graphics card: the store page asks for an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or an AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT at minimum, and a GeForce RTX 3060 or Radeon RX 6750 XT for the recommended tier. The exact figures below are taken from the Online: 404 store page as it stands today.

  • OS: Windows 10 minimum, Windows 11 recommended, 64-bit only
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM on both the minimum and recommended tiers
  • Graphics: GeForce RTX 2060 or Radeon RX 5600 XT minimum, GeForce RTX 3060 or Radeon RX 6750 XT recommended
  • API: DirectX 12 on both tiers
  • Storage: 60 GB on both tiers
  • No Mac or Linux build is listed, so the requirements only apply to Windows

Cornfield Games can still revise these numbers before launch. The store page also has no price attached yet, so there is no way to judge whether the hardware bar matches the cost.

What are the minimum specs for Online 404?

The minimum configuration published by the developer is Windows 10 64-bit, an Intel Core i5-12400F or an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, 16 GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or an AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT, DirectX 12 and 60 GB of storage space. Both processor options are listed as acceptable, so an older eight-core chip of that generation is enough on the CPU side.

The DirectX 12 requirement is the one that catches people out. It is listed for the minimum tier, not only the recommended one, which means very old drivers and pre-DX12 graphics hardware are not going to be supported at all. If you are running a machine from before roughly 2019, the card is the part most likely to fail the check, not the processor.

Component Minimum
OS Windows 10 (64-bit)
CPU Intel Core i5-12400F / AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
Memory 16 GB RAM
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 / AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT
DirectX Version 12
Storage 60 GB

The recommended tier moves up to Windows 11 and a newer card, either an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 or an AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT. Everything else is unchanged, and that is worth understanding rather than skipping past. The recommended list published on the same store page carries the same processor, the same 16 GB of memory and the same 60 GB of storage as the minimum list, so on paper the only real difference is the operating system and the graphics card.

That pattern is common enough in store pages that it is usually a template the developer has not updated yet, so treat the recommended tier as a graphics-card recommendation rather than a full system spec. If your processor, memory and storage already clear the minimum bar, the RTX 3060 or RX 6750 XT is the part the developer is actually pointing you at.

Component Recommended
OS Windows 11 (64-bit)
CPU Intel Core i5-12400F / AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
Memory 16 GB RAM
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 / AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT
DirectX Version 12
Storage 60 GB

Is there a Mac or Linux version?

No. The Steam data for the game lists Windows support while explicitly marking macOS and Linux as unsupported, and the store page publishes requirements for Windows only. There is no console version announced either, so this is a single-platform PC release at launch on October 16, 2026.

That has a knock-on effect for handheld and non-Windows players. Because there is no Linux build to fall back on, anyone running the game through a compatibility layer is outside what the developer has tested or supported. The Steam Deck situation is separate and still unresolved, since Valve has not assigned a compatibility rating, and it is covered in the Online 404 release date page along with the rest of the launch details.

How much will Online 404 cost?

Nobody knows yet. The Steam store data has no price set, no packages and no demos attached, which means pre-orders are not open and there is no discount to weigh against the hardware requirements. The store page itself is the only place a price would appear first, and it is currently blank. Since the game launches in Early Access, the price you eventually pay is likely to be lower than the price of a finished release, but the developer has not put a number on it. Our Online 404 FAQ collects the price question alongside the other launch-day unknowns.
