FAQ: when does Online 404 release, and on which platforms?

When does Online 404 release? On October 16, 2026, according to the planned release date on the Steam store page. That date comes from an August 26, 2026 developer announcement stating the release was postponed by three weeks to October 16.

Official source: Release Date Update, August 26, 2026

Is that the full game or Early Access? Early Access. The developer stated in the June 28, 2026 announcement that Online 404 would enter Early Access, and that the first build already includes the full story and all previously announced gameplay mechanics. The 1.0 date has never been announced.

What time does it unlock? Unknown. No unlock hour has been published for October 16. The 20:00 CET figure that circulates online belongs to the June 14 demo launch, not to the release.

Will it come to consoles, Mac or Linux? Not as far as anyone knows. The Steam data marks Windows as supported and both macOS and Linux as unsupported, and no console version has been announced. There is also no official developer website; the Steam page and the Discord server are the only official channels.

What languages does it support? Nine in total: English, Russian, Ukrainian, French, German, Spanish (Spain), Polish, Turkish and Portuguese (Brazil). Chinese is not one of them. The store page marks English with an asterisk, and the footnote says that asterisk marks the languages with full audio support, so only English is listed as fully voiced; the other eight have interface text and subtitles.

FAQ: was there a demo, and has the date slipped before?

Can I still play the demo? No. The demo opened on June 14, 2026 and was withdrawn from public access at the end of that month. The store data no longer lists a demo, so the build cannot be downloaded, and no demo walkthrough can be verified against a playable version.

How many people played it? More than 60,000 within two weeks, a figure the developer published and outside coverage repeated. A bug hunting event during the demo originally promised five keys to top reporters and was expanded to sixteen winners.

Has the release date moved before? Twice. The first public plan in April 2026 was a June demo and an Early Access launch at the end of July. In June the developer set September 25, and in August moved that to October 16. Both delays were attributed to wanting more time to polish.

FAQ: how much does Online 404 cost, and is it worth buying?

Is Online 404 free to play? No. The store data marks the game as not free-to-play.

How much will it cost? Nobody knows yet. There is no price, no package and no pre-order attached to the store page, so there is nothing to weigh against the hardware requirements. Early Access pricing is usually lower than a finished release, but the developer has not said so.

Does it need a good PC? Yes. Minimum is a DirectX 12 card such as a GeForce RTX 2060 or Radeon RX 5600 XT, 16 GB of RAM and 60 GB of storage on Windows 10. Full details are in our Online 404 system requirements page.

FAQ: what is confirmed about features and support?

Does Early Access launch with a complete story? Yes. The June 28 announcement says the first build will include the full story and all previously announced gameplay mechanics.

Are there Steam achievements? The achievements feature is listed on the store page, but the achievement list itself has never been published, so no achievement guide can exist yet.

Does the game use AI? The store page carries a disclosure that AI is used to voice game characters. That is the developer's own statement, reproduced here as written.

Does it support controllers? Yes, full controller support is confirmed. No button layout or UI customisation has been published.

Will it run on Steam Deck? Unknown, and worth repeating: Valve has not assigned a compatibility rating, and the store page carries no Deck badge. Demo players reported that it runs but that typing is painfully slow, which fits a game where the phone is a core interface. See the Online 404 release date page for the full platform picture.

How do I contact the developer? Through hello@cornfieldgames.com or the Discord linked from the Steam page. Cornfield Games is a married couple with four cats who have been working on the game for over a year, and publishes it themselves.
